Form over function
Andre kertesz
Andre kertesz is a Hungarian born photographer, he was born in 1928 he moved to Paris but he felt like a outsider. He payed attention to composition, geometry and form and simplicity in his images. In his image the fork becomes more than a kitchen utensil, he believed photography should reveal the real nature of things. kertesz expresses this loneliness through the subjects of his photographs, he was able to combine formal composition with an emotive charge. Henri Cartier Bresson said"each time Kertesz shutter clicks i hear his heart beating."

i think Bresson means that Keresz is connected through his camera and is part of him when he says "each time Kertesz shutter clicks i hear his heart beating"
My Response
WWW: in these images i was using the shadow of the utensils to create. different images and interest
EBI: this was my first try and for a lot of images they were under exposed
second set of images
Did you learn anything form the first set that informed the second
from the first set I learned that where i position the light is very important as it affects the image a lot and the first set the lighting was not great so in the second set i made the lighting brighter to make the image clearer.
WWW: in these set of images i had more experience, they had a better composition and were not over or under exposed
EBI: the images were a tiny bit over exposed.

David Hockney
David Hockney was a photographer who was extensively involved in the pop-art movement in the late 1900s. This movement avoided abstract ideas in favour of what was popular at the time, what was happening in your life. David Hockney was inspired by Pablo Picasso's cubist concepts and attempted to make it realistic by bringing the viewer closer to the image rather than pushing them away, as he claims other photographers do. And he accomplished this by taking numerous close-ups of various regions of the image and integrating them, allowing you to view the world as you would see it, focusing on one thing at a time, and enlarging significant elements.

my response: in the task we were taking multiple images of a object and then merging them together in photoshop to create the full image.
WWW: all the photos were in good focus
EBI: i could have held the camera stiller and not moved it as much as it made merging them harder

WWW: i think it has good inspiration of Hockney because of the images being a bit misplaced, and the photos are in good focus.
EBI: i could have had a longer shutter speed to make the image brighter i also could have held the camera more still or have it on a tripod for the images to join better.

shadows ute barth
uta barth analysis
Uta Barth creates a fantastical image she does this by creating different compostions and different perceptions she does this by looking at shadows and light in a way that can be perceived in different ways. She wants us to consider different shadows and reflections.Barth is considering the social everyday aspect of light and shadows in photography and finding beauty in everyday objects, this is shown by the normality of the objects and how the light creates different perceptions.she was interested in this because her pictures portray freedom because the photos dont conform to ordinary shapes. barth has used the digital film manipulation, this gives and creates the affect of ordinary shapes not conforming to natural standards, this helps to support baths point by manipulating light and shadows.
independent development
In the independent task i took photos inspired by coppi barbieri, which is a london bades duo of lucilla barbieri and fabrizio coppi to form coppi barbieri where they started working in the 90s and are now some of the most sought after still life photographers in the world. focusing on capturing beauty in domestic objects and specifically in glass and reflections within it. Taken this into consideration i will try to recreate photos inspired by their work.
WWW:In the images there are good shadows and reflections of the domestic objects even though they are so simple i had good focus when taking the image, i also think that there are a wide variety of images within the set with different levels of interest from shadows and reflections to the she objects positioned in different formations.
EBI: To improve these images i should try and achieve less refraction of the light by adjusting the shutter and apeture levels also to take some photos in natural light for more inspiration from coppi barbieri.

Independent work set 2
In the second set of photos inspired by coppi barbieri i focused on natural light and and the light and how it reflects and the shadows it creates.
WWW: i captured the light really well and there all in good focus, i really like the shadows the water in the glasses have created and the reflections of the light
EBI: to improve make sure to not get any unnecessary background to make the image more focused on the object
